Father Donald Hebert whose 11th volume of Southwest Louisiana Records has just been published is to be our guest speaker for our January 21 meeting; Father Bebert has become a household word among genealogists of South La. "Leaves from the Diary of Louise" complied by George Ann Benoit has just been published and a copy is in the Calcasieu Parish Library. Ancestor Chart: Yronne Yongue.
Number 02: April, 1978. Calcasieu Parish, as it exists today, became so in 1840. In 1852, the area was called Imperial Calcasieu, with boundaries extending from the mouth of River Mermentau, to the mouth of Bayou Nezipque, to the mouth of Beaver Creek, to the lines between St. Landry and Rapides Parishes, along the Sabine River and south along the seacoast.
